Who We Are
Psi Eta Mu provides members with chances to practice leadership skills, network with peers, and talk with numerous corporate representatives. Psi Eta Mu is a family where members and pledges build friendships that will last beyond their time at college and into the professional workplace.
As the first and only Information Sciences fraternity at UIUC, Psi Eta Mu currently has around 75+ students in this chapter with a large semesterly growth. The crowd Psi Eta Mu attracts ranges from Information Science majors to Statistics, Psychology, Computer Science, and Engineering majors. However, we welcome all majors!

Message From Our President
Welcome to the official website for Psi Eta Mu (PHM)! My name is Andrew Chen and I am the fraternity’s President for the 2024 - 2025 year.
Having been raised in Champaign-Urbana, my freshman experience at the University of Illinois felt uneventful. I had passed the Alma Mater thousands of times, and the chants in the State Farm Center were overfamiliar. I felt like I had never left my comfort zone at a time in my life when growth and lifelong memories were supposed to occur.
This all changed when I joined Psi Eta Mu. This fraternity has helped me in immeasurable ways and has given me friendships that will last well after my years at the University of Illinois. As a transfer to the School of Information Sciences, Psi Eta Mu has developed my career in so many ways. From my Big, Michael, who exposed me to new career paths, numerous public speaking opportunities, and designing and leading various professional development workshops, so much of my growth can be attributed to Psi Eta Mu. As a Fall 2022 Pledge Class member, a Rush Chair, Pledge Director, and now President, I have seen the fraternity’s growth firsthand.
The fraternity stands on three pillars: Professional, Social, and Community. These pillars support our mission: to develop our members in their technical skills, along with their interpersonal skills. As the only Information Sciences Fraternity in the nation, our mission and organization continue to grow in terms of active members and alumni, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic impact.
Joining Psi Eta Mu was a monumental decision for my college career, and I encourage everyone to take a chance on our organization.
